I am 34 years old. Until several months ago, I had never used a crock pot or slow cooker.
I was severely missing out.
I love grilling, and cooking a good meal. I have never been into cooking many intermediate or advanced dishes however. My food has always consisted of what I could throw on the grill: chicken breast, steak tips, hot dogs, and burgers. These items were always fine with me.
My perspective has now changed completely due to the above machine.
I suppose those I cooked for had grown tired of the same old mundane grilled food, and wanted to add some variety, both in preparation and recipe. I purchased the Ninja slow cooker at my fiancé’s request, and even bought a cookbook, as I had never cooked with one.
Wow…not only does the device make great food and dishes, but it actually saves time and steps. It’s perfect for the person or family short on time, but who don’t want to sacrifice quality as a result.
The first recipe I made was a pot roast, which is one of my favorite meals. I had never made it before though, as it always seemed daunting and as though it would be far too time-consuming and labor intensive. The beauty of the Ninja is that you can sear the meat right in the machine, and then you add all the ingredients, turn it on, and walk away.
Jump ahead 8 hours…
I was amazed at how savory, moist, and tender the meat was, and how the machine seemed to have locked all the flavor into the meat. The vegetables were also done perfectly. They weren’t overcooked or soggy, and the flavors also seemed heightened.
Since that time, I have been using the Ninja very heavily, and I continue to be impressed. While I like some recipes better than others, every one has come out well. The best part is that it inspires you to branch out and try new recipes that you previously have never attempted. It gives you the courage to try new things, which at least for me is pretty exciting!
I would heavily recommend trying it out if you are anything like me. I promise you won’t regret it.
I plan on posting some of my favorite recipes that I’ve tried very shortly.
